I have been looking forward to this weekend all year. I go big… nails done, facial, new clothes, new jewelry… It’s a big affair. This was my third year attending Stagecoach.
My first year (2013), I went with a group of all girls and we didn’t drink much at all. I honestly didn’t enjoy Stagecoach that year. We stayed at a hotel which was extremely expensive, and didn’t meet many people at the concerts. Basically, most people come with their significant other or need to be drunk for the weekend to have fun. And I’m the last person who would say that you need to drink to have fun…. but this is my exception. It’s hard to get the full experience sober when 99% of the people are drunk.
I also met up with a ton of friends. My favorite memories of stagecoach are two stepping in the moonlight to the live music. Also, every girl needs to experience being lifted on someone’s shoulders above the crowd to watch the concert. That year was also a “Sobercoach”, but having guy friends to dance with me made for an amazing weekend.
Year three (2015): Now that I had some experience, I knew exactly how to make the best of this year. First things First: Get an RV wristband. The only way to get one is to stay in an RV, or buy one from Craigslist. We waited until the first day of Stagecoach to find someone off Craigslist to buy the wristbands from. We got them for $75 each which is probably as cheap as you could get it. Make sure there is a shiny silver part on the wristband because a lot of people will try to sell fake wristbands, and security will check for that shiny silver part. The RV area is where the party is at. Everyone is partying all day, and it’s definitely where you want to be! We had a ton of friends staying in the RV area, so we had a blast. Even if you don’t have friends staying there, it’ll be worth it. There are corn hole games, drinking games, and line dancing going on all day and all night!
Going into the venue, we were able to sneak in the fake tampon flasks of alcohol. We also buried snacks and a water bottle full of alcohol in blankets and jackets. If you want to be sure to sneak in your stuff, tip the security people. It’s horrible, but so many of them will let you take your stuff in if you tip them. Or put it in your pants… sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. :p
- You can’t bring any food or drinks into the venue… even if you just bought it inside.
- It’s a fashion show… everyone is dressed in the cutest American and camo print everything! I love it. Dress to impress and take plenty of photos!
- It gets cold! The last 2 years and gotten really cold at night! Lockers are around $80, so if you bought a RV wristband, find a RV to store your pants and jacket in!
